Help?

Hi ,

Yesterday i changed my internal hard drive name to “MovieCollection1” the name before was “asdfgh” ( without quotas of course "… ok so now all my movie info and covers are gone…i went into my metadata folder ->movie->movie.xml and edited the location like this :

file:///tmp/media/usb/Local/WDTVLiveHub/asdfgh/2012 (2009).avi

 to

file:///tmp/media/usb/Local/WDTVLiveHub/MovieCollection1/2012 (2009).avi

and i restarted the WDTV LIVE HUB and turned off and then back on media library … and its not working…

and the funny part is that since i didnt see the movie cover and info … i generated a movie to check were the metadata was pointing…

so i opened up the movie.xml and had the same name as the one i changed …

file:///tmp/media/usb/Local/WDTVLiveHub/ MovieCollection1 /2012 (2009).avi  <— the one that i renamed

and the new one that was generated was :

file:///tmp/media/usb/Local/WDTVLiveHub/ MovieCollection1 /2012 (2009).avi

can u someone please help … i dont want to generate all my movie titles again :S

You’re highlighting a few known issues.

Once you break a binding to Metadata by changing the name or location of a file, it CANNOT be recovered by editing anything.   You’ll have to manually re-do the metadata via the UI.

… Second, the Hub doesn’t appear to do very well (if at all) any garbage collection on stale metadata XML…
