How to recover deleted file

I would very much like to recover a deleted file from my MY Cloud device.
I found instructions if I had used the WD Sync… but I didn’t… I dragged and dropped.
Is there any hope.
Please note: I am a neophyte at this.

What type of device are you using and what operating system? Where did you drag and drop too, the My Cloud desktop app etc?

My apologies… My Cloud 2TB networked through my Linksys 1200AC. O/S is WIN 10. I dragged from a then retired Seagate Free Agent GoFlex Home drive to the WD My Cloud.
And yes, I checked my GoFlex for the file and can’t find it there either.
What I used to drag and drop I don’t remember now, but I know it wasn’t the WD Sync program.
