How to set sharespace as a ftp server

hi,

I want to use it ftp server but ı couldnt

on sharespace’s interface

ı confirmed as ftp server button

then ı assign as static ip and ı add its ip to my router modem

but ı couldnt set as ftp server

my sharespace ip 192.168.2.x

am ı going to use this ip to reach

or my internet connections ip

and shall ı open a account in sharespace

ı really confused

does anyone help how can ı do this

with tutorial

I gather that you are trying to use your box as public FTP server wich is located behind your internet router, correct?

if that is so, you must do this:

  1. Assign your sharespace a static IP from the internal IP range of your router (or ask your DHCP server to do so)

  2. Activate FTP in your sharespace

  3. Create a forward rule in your router so that the FTP ports are forwarded to your sharespace

After that you should be able to access the box via FTP by means of your public IP address.

If I read your post correctly, you have done 1) and 2) already. Can you access your box via FTP from within your LAN then?

hi,

I checked box in sharespace by a default port 21

then

ı assign sharespace static ip as 192.168.2.4

then in routers firewiall setting I allowed this ip to 192.168.2.4 :21

I want to reach it to my public internet ip which is 94.54.225.158

but still ı couldnt reach as ftp

also ı need to ask you shall change dns address of sharespace

would it work

because sharespace dns address different than my modem’s

hi,

i have sharespace 8tb

i’like to use it as ftp server

i checked boxes in interface of sharespace as ftp server

and I assigned static ip as 198.162.2.4

and I open an account in user tab also I allowed sharespace’s ip in my router modem as a port 21

but I couldnt reach in my office as a ftp server

I used ftp clients too as you see in below my connection way

ftp://starker:123456@198.162.2.4

please tell me what did I Wrong or nas server is not working

what did I wrong please tell me correct configuration by screenshots
