Does this device have a USB port to plug it to a PC or Mac? Transfering large files via Network on slow connections (not gigabit) could be really slow.
I do not believe either USB port on the hub can be plugged into a computer. Or at least I didn’t see anything in the manual. (I could be wrong) But transfer speeds would be roughly the same, givin the specs for a USB device are not all that fast. I get 11MB/s over the network on average and almost the same for a direct connect of my external usb drive.
You can, of course, always use an external drive to transfer the files. I actually have my PC do this automatically. (google robocopy, it’s built into most versions of windows I believe–Robust File Copier). I use that + theRenamer (+ a batch file, it all depends on how you are using your setup)
