I don't know what files that I've uploaded are visible to other people

First off, I love my WD cloud (4 terrabytes) and the ability to backup a ton of files to it.

My cloud is connected via LAN, wired, into my wireless router.  My home PC is connected, wired, to the same router.

By there is almost zero information, anywhere, on who can see my files besides me.

I know that I can set a password… but there isn’t anything on the system that lets me know if the files on my server are protected from other people seeing them.

Am I literally letting anyone download my files?

If a file is in the shared folder, does that mean that other people (from outside of my home) can see those files?

I’ve tried to find more information on this, but the learning center is super vague on it. For instance, while trying to figure out what my security options are, it says:
"What is a public share?

It’s a share to which all users have read and write access.

What is a private share?

It’s a share that only selected users can access. Privileges are limited to read and write (full access) or read-only."

Okay.  When it says “users”, does it mean everyone?  Or just people who are connected to my home network.

If I want to set everything to private share, how do I do that?

I have a ton of files that I don’t want *everyone* to see, but that I want to have backed up regularly.  When I back up my files, are they publicly shared?  How do I know?

Thanks for your help.

*ALL* of this is explained in the User Manual – have you read it yet?
