Only things I am trying to do now and failing, either because it can’t be done, or gremlins are in the works.

For some reason Thumbgen has stopped making xml files ? Maybe a reinstall will help, but all I have been doing is renaming a .txt file in the same directory with the movie name and changing to .xml.

Gallery view seems annoyingly sluggish, maybe the amount of movies I have in the root, don’t really want to go back to folders, as I like the row of thumbnails, without digging about in folders, although I did find in large grid view that you can get info from the options, which is a win in a way, and another reason to maybe keep the xml files.

Keep trying new folder.jpgs for shared drives, always look ■■■■.

Trying to create folder.jpgs for inside connected USB drive folders to the Hub, but can never see them, which is annoying.

I have this working fine On my hub. I now have a problem with my wdlive which reads the data on the hub. The live uses the moviename.jpg fir the thumbnail. So now my thumbnail on the live is a tiny version of the moviesheet.
Any suggestions?

I don’t think you have any options to be honest mate, if you want to see pictures on folders, then you need to use a stock theme. Its the Xmls in the hub that decide sizing and framing, the Live wont have or understand that data.
Just use the Live in list view

no you can use joeys way and movies work in list view
or my way and music works in list view
I only wanted list view for music so I didnt care that it didnt work for movies

Bummer.
The hubs default moviesheets are too slow, and hard to read. I much prefere the thumbgen moviesheets, but don’t want to mess with the thumbnails because that messes with the live.
I use custom firmware on the live to use moviesheets, which use thumbnails on the bottom of the screen. Looks silly with tiny moviesheets on the bottom.

How can the Large Video view, with 10 large thumbnails, fly between pages, but when you are in gallery view with sheets, it seems so sluggish…
To my “simple” thinking, the amount of information its displaying with 10 large thumbs, must be simalair to whats on show in a screen in Gallery…

These original Pngs look nice on the menu, they even reflect onto the wallpaper. Might try glitzing the rest up. Be nice if they popped up when you select video, out of my league there tho…

From what Ive seen others test with. Its because of the background images. If you go into the movie xml files and delete all the background image coding it speeds it up.
Any computer geeks out there think of a quick way to create empty xml files to match movie names. All I need is empty ones, rather than go through loads of them ?
I have posted on TG forum to see if we are missing a checkbox that would stop them from generating in the first place

No I was on about deleteing the ones I have and somehow batch creating new ones to match the movie names, without editing every one.

I’ll test it right now and reply again.
I am not able to see my XML data sheet for the movie title and info like on the others but the thumd works and the games. I tried just the worm one and it works. I am on the latest firmware as well.
Why wouldn’t the xml data work though? It works on the others.
Oh I just tried the dark theme too not the light.
