yes I am using your TV show template. in the screen shot, in the upper right corner where it says “EPISODE 1”, is it supposed to pull an image automatically there as well or is it just supposed to have the words there? thanks and good job by the way!
yes that is what I want to do but I have no idea how to use Thumbgen Designer. Can you tell me what I would have to do to get the episode image there like you have it but without the BR cover? Thks
Go to bottom off items on the left, and select paste in blank space, you will now have a second background image file.
Select Move mode on/off and move it where you want to. I have found its easier to de-select (click on eye icon to left of actions) any actions that have been added to it (bottom left hand tab) and then move and scale, and then reselct actions, as if you dont, you have to scale by typing numbers to the right.
You will need to move other bits in the cover on the right. But its pretty straight forward.
All this text makes it sound complcated, but once you learn where everything is, its not hard at all.
Any other questions give me a shout.
My tip would be to create a duplicate TV template folder and mess about with that one.
I usually just delete the xml anyway, figure I dont need it with moviesheets.
Mmmm I just removed them (luckily just to a folder) and it made the thumbs all fuzzy, and it showed no moviesheet, don’t know how you get the moviesheets to display without them ? Well with this theme anyway.
the only xml that needs to be in each folder is an xml file that is the folder name…for instance , my Movie folder has in it 1 xml file named Movie.xml , my TV folder has folders for each show , so each folder inside the tv folder …ie Simpsons folder has an xml file in it named Simpsons.xml …thats the only xml file, this was stated by Joey in The mods instructions. Without this xml file your thumbnails will be fuzzy and not display the moviesheet. The xml file just has to be any xml file, doesnt matter what it is but it needs to be the exact name of the folder, no other xmls are necessary.
yeah i tried the single xml with joeys sample folder which i renamed to “Offline Movies” and xml to “Offline Movies.xml”… folder didnt exist. generated all xmls for the sample movies and folder still didnt exist. Deleted “Offline Movies.xml” and it was visable again… weird.
It does work for me, I’m using this theme, I have a Movies Folder with all my movies in there, just the movies and the thumbgen sheet. The only xml I have in my movies folder is Movies.xml . Now if I remove this xml I get a fuzzy movie icon and No moviesheet.
For my TV shows I have a TV folder, in it I have folder for all the shows, Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers…etc.
In these folders , again the only xml file is Simpsons.xml and Bob’s Burgers.xml , the xml is just a simple xml the only lines in it are
If you have movies and sheets in the ‘ROOT’ of your Hubs HDD…
create and place this xml file (use notepad to create it, or edit one)
WDTVLiveHub.xml
this is the code inside the xml.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
WDTVLiveHub
At least ’ 1’ xml is required for the sheets to display properly (there is no need to have an xml for every movie. But of course you still create them if you wish)
P.S. the xml name and internal code must be the same for it to work.
eg. If you have movies and sheets in a folder eg. “JS Offline Movies”
then you need a file called
JS Offline Movies.xml
and edit and change the name inside the xml.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
** JS Offline Movies **
ALSO: if you ‘delete’ the xml file… 2 things will happen.
* Pictures will become ‘blurry’
* Pictures that are .PNG (but renamed as JPG to trick the Live Hub) … They will vanish.
(does not affect ‘true’ JPG images… only makes them blurry)

Thanks for the help on this. Much appreciated. I think i’ve got it working now.
As I do like the idea of only 1 xml to cleanup the file structure. And I did get it working, but upon testing I discovered a few features lost in this way.
View info is blank… not needed because there is a moviesheet anyways
Cant view trailer… since the trailer link is in the individual xml files. this feature I want. Right now I have to manually paste in the trailer youetube URL but im hoping TG will get that in auto soon.
Something has changed in Gallery view in your updated Theme mate.
It was late last night, but looking at it again today, ny thumbs at the bottom have the left hand side cut offb a bit, I have the bluray covers and did move all the Imdb data to the left a bit more to get rid of the box edge, and I maybe see it a bit more because of the Bluray cover, but can you give me an idea on what you changed, as I like the other fixes you have done, I will amend the one I have, as I might have made this worse for myself.

Thanks.
Yes I did change something. I change the width of the cover art on the right side [in the xml] It was my simple fix for the “]” symbol that was appearing between each cover along the bottom. I also fixed the cause in the template but it meant I would have to redo all my moviesheets so I applied this tweak in the gallery xml. Think I shrunk it by approximately 5. Im at work so I cant look at it to refresh my memory. You can compare that section with Joeys original release and edit that number back. Or I can check when I get home.
