Local access to the harddisk

I bought a WD My Cloud Home 8 TB and set it up. I can now access the data via browser and upload data there. That has worked so far.

But what I would like to do now:
I would like to have the contents of this hard disk directly accessible on my Windows desktop, just like it works with Google Drive or Dropbox. But I have not found out how to do that. Can anyone help me?

Did you buy a My Cloud or My Cloud Home? They are not the same device. The My Cloud Home is a completely different device than the My Cloud line of devices. The My Cloud Home uses a different operating system and has different features/options than the My Cloud line has.

See the correct subforum if you have a My Cloud Home device:

If you have a My Cloud Home, see the WD Support section for the My Cloud Home which has additional information on how to use that device including a User Manual that details how to setup and access a My Cloud Home.

Thank you for your reply. I use MY Cloud Home… But when i map de Device in my local network i see a folder called “public”. In this folder are no files, when i put a file in these directory, i dont see the file in de mobile or browser app.

Sorry, i am not so good in this things.

See the links provided. Particularly the My Cloud Home User Manual, as it explains how to properly setup and use the device.
