Map private share as network drive

I am attempting to map a share as a network drive. This share is configured to require a password However when I put in the username and password I get access denied. I have tried using ip\username, username, \username. None of these options work. I can map non password protected shares with no issues.

You need to make sure that you map the password protected share FIRST – before ANY other shares are mapped.

I disconnected all mapped drives. I rebooted the Mycloud and the PC and tried mapping the password protected share and it is still giving me access denied.

If using Windows, select “Connect using different credentials” on the “Map Drive” dialog box and try again.

I have tried using different credentials. As I stated originally I have tried using username, backslash username to remove the domain requirements, the ip of the device as the domain and the username nothing works

Post a screenshot of the error.

I got it working. Not sure what was different I went to repeat the attempt to get the screencap and it worked.

While you have apparently been able to fix your issue, what I was referring to was the highlighted in red section in the following screen capture. In certain instances one has to put a checkmark in the Connect using different credentials box to get Windows to properly map a Share.

Yeah I was putting a check in that box, thats the only way to enter a username and password when mapping a drive. It kept tossing an access is denied message and then suddenly started working. I blame the Ghost in the Shell
