MBL not found by any router

Hi there,
I’ve been searching for weeks now trying everything and about to give up. I’ve had my MBL unused for some time now and wanted to use it as backup for my Synology.

When connecting to my network the MBL cannot be found. I tried everything, connecting directly to PC with DHCP server, using alternate router (with IP range especially around standard IP of MBL). Still no router can find the MBL (not even showing MAC adress). I tried to unbrick using instructions on this site. I can access the drive and see the contense. I installed latest firmware (i hope, cant verify). When putting back in case, no show. The lights on back (network) blink. Drive is constantly ‘working’. Does anyone have an idea or is the hardware defective and should i use the drive as external with new case?
Thanks in advance for your help!

PS: found out: light on front is not working (either). Also reset doesnt do anything.

Hi,

You are saying that you can access the drive and see the content. Are you trying to access the dashboard of the unit? Or the drive it self?

What router are you using?
Was the drive working before on this router?

Hi Ermorel, thanks for your time and reply. I tried different routers (the MBL used to work on both of them). I could access the content by connecting the harddrive directly with a SATA cable to my computer and running Linux (as described in the instructions for unbricking MBL).

The MBL cannot be seen or accessed. The routers, computers and network can’t see the drive. Network lights are blinking and hard drive is working like crazy. Resetting doesn’t change this.
