MKV Plays From Nas but not Local

Has anyone had an issue of a MKV (made using MakeMKV) being able to be played streaming from a WD World II, but not when it’s sittling locally on the WD Live Hub? When I try to play locally, it states that the file is unsupported. :)  I did see a guy with the exact opposite problem…lol  Any ideas or thoughts are welcome.  Perhaps a bug that will be addressed in a future firmware update…

When your streaming it - are you accessing it as a Media Server or as a Network Location? If the former than it is transcoding the file and this is normal.

…I thought the same thing…but am able to play mkv via network share as well as media server…

Interestingly enough, one file plays and the other doesn’t.  Both are encoded using makemkv and use the same settings.  one the plays is 4 gig and the one that doesn’t is 5.6 gig… anyone notice a size limitation?

It turned out to be a bad copy to the hard drive.  I recopied it and it works perfectly!
