Recently had a machine crash, now have a new pc and want to use my existing MyCloud which has data stored on it from the old machine for which I don’t want to lose.
Can I simply just use the this MyCloud device with my new machine ? Help
Yes.
Simply connect your new PC to your local network, and connect to the MyCloud, either using the WD software, or simply by browsing your network devices, or mapping the MyCloud shares as network drives.
Then copy whatever data you want from the MyCloud to your new PC.
ps. It does depend somewhat on exactly how you had data stored from your original PC; did you simply copy it there, or did you use a backup tool of some sort? If the latter, then you will need to use the same backup tool to restore the data.
