My Cloud EX2 with firmware 2.11.157 unintentionally created numerous sub folders of Public, Smartware and Timemachine shares. I am not able to delete these folders.
Looking in the file explorer the multiple folders can be seen.
I tried to delete the folders in Shares, but when clicking the ‘minus share’ button it says updating but the share does not disappear.
Noticed, that when I attempt to delete e.g. Public_10 the share is not deleted, instead a new share, in this case Public_58 is created.
I’d recommend contacting WD Support about this. You can do so in the following link:

Try to provide as many details as possible related to the issue at hand. They may request logs or additional information.
Ok, thanks, I will do so.
Issue solved by resetting device with 40 sec reset after advise from WD Support.
Have a nice day.
I am having this same problem. Resetting the device did not fix it. I now have 512 public shares!!! I am on the latest firmware. This should have been fixed by now! It is very frustrating! I wish I could disable “automatically create a public share” somehow!
Please Fix!!
