Music disappear from My Cloud

I have stored all my music in My Cloud and some years later, when I wanted to retrieve some music from my cloud, I discovered to my surprise the music was not there anymore. Only a desktop.ini text.

I know the music was there and I still have the music in some of my devices but WD has lost all my files

What is the problem?

Maybe your music share has disappeared. Happened today to mine.

I suggest you get hold of FileZilla and logon on to your WD assuming FTP access is enabled if not do so.
You will need your WD’s IP address e.g. mine is 192.168.0.8 and set port to 21
Logon as normal. Put in your user id and password.
You should be able to see your music and copy it via FTP somewhere else.
You may have to do this piecemeal and the create a new share on the WD and copy what you retrieved back to the new WD share.
