I wonder if you can help. I’m looking at buying a My Book World Edition II with 2x1TB drives. I will configure these drives in RAID1, giving me a total of 1TB of storage. I’m trying to find out if this NAS supports expanding the RAID array without loss of data. i.e. replace 1 of the drives with a 2TB drive and allow the array to rebuild, then replace the other disk with a 2 TB drive and allow the array to rebuild. This would then give me a 2TB volume with no data loss.
Other devices support this, but I can’t see anything on Western Digital’s site to tell me if it is supported on the My Book World Edition II.
