Hallo WD Community,

ich will meine iPhoto Library auf eine 4TB MyCloud kopieren. Größe ist 55 GB.

Im Public Bereich habe ich ein Unterverzeichnis Fotos angelegt und hierhin soll die Kopie.

Nach einigen Versuchen und Abbrüchen ergibt sich immer wieder das gleiche Bild:

in den ersten 2 Minuten werden ca 300MB übertragen, nach 3 Stunden sind es ca 386MB und die verbleibende Restzeit wird mit 18 Tagen angegeben.

Anruf bei der WD Hotline gab den Tipp, die Cloud über smb://WDMyCloud/public zu verbinden, hat aber null Effekt gehabt. Vorher war es afp.

Meine Konfiguration:

MacBook Air, 1.3 GHz i5 mit OS X 10.9.1

Mac hängt per Kabel am Router, WLAN hatte ich auch getestet

Router Speedport W921V

WD Firmware v03.01.04-139

Wo liegt der Fehler? Warum bricht die Geschwindigkeit nach wenigen Minuten zusammen?

So ist die Platte jedenfalls leider wertlos.

Hello WD Community,

I want to copy the iPhoto Library which is 55GB large to a 4TB MyCloud. 

In the Public Area there is a folder “Fotos” as tghe target for the copy.

I tried several times with all the same results:

in the first 2 minutes there are some 300MB copied, after 3 hours it is ca 386MB and the estimated time is calculated as 18 days.

Calling the WD Hotline resulted in mounting the Cloud via smb://WDMyCloud/public without a result. Originally it has been afp.

The config:

MacBook Air, 1.3 GHz i5 with OS X 10.9.1

Mac connected via cable to the router (WLAN tested as well)

WD Firmware v03.01.04-139

Where is the problem? Why does the speed collapse after a few minutes?

The drive is pretty useless in this condition.

Appreciate any ideas

The drive is not slow, the problem is how your system is handling the files you want to transfer.

Small size files as photos (especially in huge amount) are slower to transfer than big files but not as slow as you described.

As support told you mount share via smb in finder.

Copy files from source to target using finder not other tool/soft/app.

Do it wired, Gb if possible.

I always started the copy by dragging from one finder to another finder window.

No other tools involved.
