My Cloud won't accept user name and password

I installed MyCloud 4TB drive on my Network.  I started a backup of my windows Vista system (I also have an XP system and a windows 7 system on the network).  After a partial backup was completed, MyCloud disconnected from the computer and required a username and password to reconnect.  At that point I could navigate my network and open the MyCloud drive P, but could not connect WD SmartWare Pro to continue the backup.  SmartWare would not accept the username or password.  Now I can not access the drive through my network or through SmartWare.  However, I can still access the P drive with my Dashboard using the user name and password  as well as WD My Cloud app.

How do I get WD Smartware Pro to access the drive?

How do I get my network to allow me to access the drive?

The drive is set to Public at this time.

Thanks

Scott

It sounds like you are connecting to a public share 1st. this will do all other connections as public also as windows only allows 1 user/password to connect to a device.

disconnect all drives, connect to a non-public share 1st. to connect to any additional shares this same user needs access or they need to be public. if this fails clear credentials and try again

Thanks.  I seem to have found the answer.  The user I have been trying to back up keeps asking for the username and password.  For some reason the password is blank.  When I put in the correct user name with no password, everything worked fine.  I don’t know why the password is blank.

Thanks again.
