every time I log into Windows, it wakes MBL up. How can I disable this?
This may be caused by a software installed in your computer, i.e. if you are using Smartware it willa ccess the MBL to keep the backup up to date.
Though I did install WD Smartware, I have disabled the back-up function, and removed the MBL from Explorer. Anything left?
Disable the “connect on login”?, unmap the drive, select the drive icon & rt click, disconnect?
My PC will wake up the MBL even without any software installed, and sometimes when I simply open up an explorer window. I think it’s just a matter of windows “checking if everybody is still there”.
I’ve found that MBL wakes up at times without the pc being on; have seen this even with the powerstrip turned off in the morning. Could be that it wakes up, checks whatever, then goes back to sleep.
I do see some files, watch1, watch2, watch3, watch4, watch10 that have random numbers for wakeups?
Does this to me also, I do not have the software installed but I do have the share mapped. Thus it must be the share that does it. use net use delete on the share if you do not always need it.
