We used to be able to see the 3TB MyBookLive drive on our network, but now it is not showing. I can get to the drive via the WD My Cloud app on my Desktop, but not otherwise.
Also, I wanted to check if my backups were working but now I am being asked for a username and password and I’m not sure what username and password is being asked for. I don’t think I ever set one up. I have used the WD SmartWare Autosave icon to try to view my files. Again, I was able to do this until recently, but the tabs called “Backup” and “Retrieve” are greyed out.
I just don’t know what to do. I’ve tried several suggestions once I had done some research on the internet, rebooted the computer several times, etc., but to no avail. We are all on Windows 10 and no one can see the drive under “My Computer” whereas we used to be able to. I can also access the Drive through the IP address, but that is only to reach the settings page, not to view the files.
Thanks so much for your advice. I spent days - trying several computers, to get the drive to show on our PCs. My daughter was able to access it for a time on her Mac. I WAS able to see the drive using the WDMyCloud shortcut/app on my desktop. I was also able to log into the settings, but it just did not appear as a drive.
After a few days of attempts I finally completely disconnected the router and the WD Drive and left them both off for a good 15 minutes and then turned the power back on to them both. After that - the drive appeared on one PC and then another. Finally I saw it under my Network drive on my PC as MYBOOKLIVE and was able to access the files.
No idea why it failed, but I think I have resolved it. I will certainly keep the link you sent me for resolving this issue and thank you so much.
