MyCloud EX4 disconnects itself from the network and needs hard reboot

MyCloud EX4 keeps on disconnecting from the network and requires hard reboot (pulling the plug off) so that I can restart it. Pressing the power button on the panel simply does nothing except that it flashes a message on the lcd that it is shutting down and nothing happens .

I have been using this product for the past 4 weeks and I can tell you that it is not reliable .

Are you using this unit with a static IP or DHCP? If is DHCP, try using a static IP to get a more stable connection.

I have switched it to a Static IP , disabled the sleep mode and still have the same problem . Any other ideas ?

from experience keep it on DHCP and set it to a reserved IP on your router or dhcp server.

How would that make a difference?

Ok first of all how did you setup the NAS. If wired is it via Switch or Router

Also does any of the connected devices via wired have similar issues.

Its upto the router to decide how long a client can stay put before getting released.

usually lease time can be modified only on custom firmware.

But for most router’s or switch the renewal will happens instantly if the client stay connected for longer time without going to sleep mode which will get itself moved out of network which releases the IP automatically.
