I have had this printer working before as a networked printer to my laptops, and it was still connected to my desktop, not to the N900. After a recent mobo upgrade, I can no longer get it to share no matter what I try. I installed WD Print Share this morning, connected the printer to the router, enabled it, and can print to it using my desktop PC (also connected via ethernet cable to router of course). But I cannot get the printer to work for my Win7 laptop. Tried connecting as a network printer, as a USB printer (tried to set the IP address for it, but it isn’t found) Running Windows Firewall on both machines. Any suggestion, this is causing my hair to fall out ( & my wife to frown a lot as she tries to prints things)
Since the printer is not working with the computer nor the drive, you might want to check with the printer manufacturer to see if you can install the drivers.
I’ve checked our compatibility list and this printer is supported.
No, the printer works fine & I have the correct drivers installed. It worked before as a network printer, even though it was connected directly to my desktop PC (never did figure out why).
After installing a new motherboard, I reinstalled Win 7, and again tried to get this same printer working on my network.
Same router, same printer, same OS, same drivers. No matter what I try, I cannot get it to work for my laptop, also running Win7, and with Canon drivers installed.
Should I install Print Share also on my laptop?
You could try installing print share on the laptop.
You could also try contacting the printer manufacturer for additional assistance.
Installed PrintShare on laptop, which solved my issue.
Thank you
