try to set up share printer for brother MFC 9600 with N900 router, but share printer application not displays this printer on the list, status is “not ready”. Please update N900 firmware for this printer. Thanks.
Hi eusdins, When I had the same issue, I went into my PC’s security software’s firewall settings (in my case BitDefender Internet Security), go into Advanced settings/Adapter rules, there added the router’s ip (192.168.1.1) as allowed zone. Then my printer showed up and worked good. I had to do this in every PC in my house, however, it is a one-time task, no biggie.
I’m having the same exact isisue w/ my Canon MP450.I installed WD Print Share, and connecting the printer USB cable to one of the USB ports on the back of my N900. I can now use the printer with my desktop, which is connected to this router via ethernet, but cannot for the life of me get it working for my Win7 wireless laptop. I have Windows Firewall running, but am lost as far as how to set rules for it to work , if required.
I have mcafee, but can not find location to set rules in there. I found in WD Knowledge base in support page that the Brother printers below are compatible with WD print share that does not have MFC9600. Thanks
