Need help! My Passport Hard disk unallocated after chkdsk

Hello guys,

Need your help. I have a 1TB WD My passport external hard disk. I plugged in yesterday after almost a year. All of a sudden when copying files it became inaccessible. When i double click it says “Do you want to format it?”.

I checked the disk management tool in windows and it shows the drive as unallocated. Then after reading some forums on the internet I downloaded EASEUS partition manager home edition. It detected that the drive partition was NTFS and showed the used space correctly. So I believed the files were still there. I then clicked “Check errors” option hoping it would fix the errors in the file system and allow me browse the files without taking a backup. The software automatically ran a chkdsk. Now the drive just shows as unallocated in the EASUS partition software and the used space also does not show up.

I am very worried that running that fix errors scan would have damaged the drive. I just want to get my files back as they have super important information.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, sameer13

I understand the concern that you want to extract the data from the drive, Well in order to extract the data from the drive we do have data recovery company that helps to extract the data from the Hard drive.
