Network shares gone but media shares and online features are still visible?

arrggh! my live has been working great until last week now i cant do anything with network shares (it just sits there not responding to any button) the media shares still work from both pc’s but nothing from the network shares

only thing that changed last week was the addition of a new tv a samsung, i installed the allshare software but promptly deleted too as it didnt serve any purpose to me as i have a wdtv live! i have tried every fix available on the net but cant get any to work has anyone got any ideas please

all my internal networking is working fine i.e. pc to pc and my wdtv can also acces the online features accuweather etc

hi

  • try this : in network settings : options change auto login into  “off”

  • then turn off  from power and  turn in

  • check

try this too :  “clear login info”

and restart

  • give a short info if it helped

i tried that and still nothing sorry :frowning: , i even returned it and got a new one just incase but its obviosly a network issue

even turned off the homegroup to see if that worked

i could understand it if nothing else worked but everything else is sharing and internetting!

short of reinstalling windows or throwing it out of the window i dont know what else to try

  • ok , then pls check on your pc/laptop network area [firewalls,options,is there the name WORKGROUP ?] 

  • try to “map” all hdrives

edit : you are having a router/modem ? if that is so - then pls change cables and plug in into other rt-45 ports and turn on and back return the cables into normal/previous position and check - maybe that is something with your Dns…[static ip or nat ?]

working so far (fingers crossed!) think it was either swapping the cables or remapping all the drives

  • simple as that

  •  changing for a while cables/places  [rj45 within my router]  works in my case [once a two months I have to do that once my network restarts and then do not “see” all devices,after that operation it does :slight_smile:  ]
