I have 1 live plus and 1 live media hub. The media hub has 2 2tb Seagate external hard drives the live plus has 2 2tb Seagate external hard drives. I have both wired into my network and I can access my network shares on my media hub from my live plus but I can access the network shares on the media hub from the live plus??? I have used the wd discovery tool and found them via a laptop but not with the hub. Anyone have any ideas?
I think the external drives connected to the “TV Live Hub” can be seen by the “TV Live Plus” but not the other way around. The Hub’s drive are available on the network but the “TV Live Plus” drives are only local, not network available.
It should work right out of the box- it’s just Samba so if the laptops can see them the Live Plus should see it too… Its possible you are having a network issue of some kind… How many devices are connected to your router? Do you have a firewall on the router? What firmware on each unit?
the live plus sees the shares on the WD LIVE HUB, it’s the NEW WD HUB that cannot see the shares on the live plus… all firmware is updated to whats available. I will add those tonight on here.
Hmm. I tried this last night, and was able to stream movies both directions with no issue… from a USB stick on the Live+ to the Hub, and from a Passport on the Hub to the Live+.
I’m running 2.02.16 on the hub, and 1.03.43 on the Live+, if that makes a difference…
