Just bought a new HP Pavilion 500 running Windows 7. Computer recognizes the Passport Ultra just fine, but continually loses internet connection while the drive is connected to the computer. Internet access is just fine when I unplug the drive. Does anyone else have this incompatibility issue and is there a workaround?

This is really odd, have you tried uninstalling the drive from the device manager and then rebooting the computer? Also try to see if you get the same problems when you connect this unit o a different computer.
This is the first time i see this type of issue, but i hope this helps.
