Password and Username issues connecting to computer

Hello all,

My WD TV Live is connected by ethernet to my wireless router.  Everything appears to work fine but when I try to access content on the computer the WD TV ask for a username and password.  As far as I know I have never set up a username or password.   I have tried my standard windows login as well as a few other combinations that I thought I might have made it but none work.  Can anyone tell me when on the computer I would go to setup/change that password?  There is currently no network setup on the computer and I am running windows XP.  ANy help would be appreciated.  Thank You

Did you try the “Default” that the WD starts with?   That’s userid=“anonymous” password=“blank”

Well, there has to be, right?  :)  Otherwise NOTHING will work.  :)

Thanks for your reply.  Yes I did try the factory setting that WD provided as well, you are right about the network lol.  What I was reffering to was that I nenver manually set up a network for any other device to connect to that computer.  So currently I am at a loss as to how to get this thing to work.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks

You have to use the default if you have no password for network sharing. You also have to enable sharing on your computer.

I assume that your computer is connected to the network either by WiFI or wired.

Yes the computer is on the network and the WD Live does recognize the computer as on the network, I just cant get past the password prompt.  So I need to enable sharing on each folder that I want to use on the WD Live I guess?  Thanks for your help
