Problems with transfer to Hub over my network

When I transfer files the transfer often gets interrupted and I have to try multiple times just to get single movie files to go. I get the message “The operation can’t be completed because the item “whateverthefilenameis” is in use.”

My setup: 

-WD Hub hooked up to my router

-WD MyBook (2TB)
-MacBook Pro running Mavericks

So I’ve transferred videos thousands of times via Finder from my Mac through the connected Hub to the external hard drive (MyBook). A little while ago (roughly the time I updated to Mavericks) these problems started and they’re really annoying. They could become a major problem for me next time I need to do a mass of files all at once. 

Anyone have any fixes? PLEASE HELP!

first take a look at signal strength, if signal strength is near zero, it just might not be possible without moving the device closer

and maybe reboot your network equipment, see if that solves anything

Have you tried resetting the Hub?

What firmware are you running on the unit?

I am assuming this is related to the well documented incompatibility between OS X Mavericks and WD Hard Drives.

There was a fix released yesterday for external drives - hopefully a firmware update is released to addressed this.  I am having the same problem since Mavericks was installed and it is driving me crazy.  WD had MONTHS to prepare for this and they dropped the ball.

I had the same problems but they have disappeared now that I use it wired.

Wired / wireless has no bearing on the WD / Mavericks incompatibility.
