Protecting against local WiFi access...help

I set up my MyCloud and added users on the dashboard.  The problem is, my brother came over and downloaded the My Cloup App for iOS and it didn’t ask him for a username or password at all…he just had full control over my files on the device.  I’ve tried this now with multiple phones and for anybody who is connected to my wireless network they just get 100% access to my files.

I’ve tried looking all over and reading the manual but nothing seems to work.  Is there a way we can password protect this or is that not a feature?  It’s worthless to me if anybody on my home network can just download the iphone app and access my stuff.

Any help is much appreciated.

You need access the WD My Cloud Dashboard, then configure the “Public Access” setting for each share to “Off” then give each User permission (no access, read access, full access) access to that share. See the WD My Cloud User Manual for more information, in particular Chapter 8, Managing Shares, Making a Share Private.
