Just wondering how come people that is not in my share list can access my files ?- It call my attention that when I started my app in my Iphone , It was showing 2 Icons of 2 different clouds . So I acces one of them and what a surprise I was able to acces someone elses files. I started asking my neighbours and see whom may have a WD Cloud and I found it . It was my next door nieghbour . so now I can see his files and more surprisingly He can see all mines too . We ask a friend to download the app to his Iphone and without any problem he could also access both of us , my loud and my neighbour cloud even without asking for a pasword or code . Anyhow , Can anyone help me in how to block access to unknown people ? now knowing that whomever can download an app and access any cloud on the street .

Do you have proper Logins and Passwords set for the cloud? Have you set your “Shares” for permissions?
forget about WD password. Are both of you running unprotected WIFIs ?
I’ve just discovered something else. A couple of minutes ago.
If you port forward your MyCloud, and then go to your Desktop >> Create Shortcut >> Type in \youripaddress\
(Obviously change youripaddress to your own IP Address)
Everyone can access all of your files / folders etc without a password.
I have MyCloud setup and a password on a number of folders. However I can access these folders without a password.
I borrowed a friends laptop and connected to the internet via a Mobile Tethering. I did the exact same thing, and all the contents came up of my MyCloud.
Is there something I’ve done wrong or is this a bug?

Only people on your network can access your files, and then, only if they’re in Public shares.
Yes, if you’ve actually plumbed your My Cloud NAS directly into the internet (without a NAT router between it and the internet) then sure; everyone in the world will be able to access your shares. But WHY on EARTH would you do that?!
Because not everyone has the same knowledge as others, and are new to these things. So didn’t know that?
im not a geek in all this connections . I connected the WD in one of those ports behind the router . Is it wrong ?

Sounds like one of you is connected to the other’s wifi network.
Yes if you both are using the same network then you’ll see each others my clouds. Better have a nice long talk to your neighbor if you didn’t allow them your wifi access ;)
