Some Videos not served to Bravia TV

Just bought a MBWE2 (white light) to increase available NAS storage and transferred my video files (all mpeg2) from my HP MediaVault to the MBWE2.

When I try to access them from the Bravia TV only about  a third of them show up. I’ve updated to the latest Firmware but no difference. All of them are seen and play from the MediaVault so it’s not a Bravia problem.

All the files that don’t play seem to have a bitrate of 15Mbps. Is ther some tweak to twonky server to make these show in the list and play from the MBWE?

jdz2k,  if you are using IE9 please visit the link below:

Is that supposed to be a reply to my query??

I don’t see anything relevant to my problem.

No, This is aimed to jdz2k, he posted something and it was an empty post, I just give him an advice in this regards.

OK

his post must have been removed then.

Update: I believe I’ve found the problem. The files were originally .ts files from a PVR that were edited in VideoRedo, but the  bitrate in the header was set as for burning to DVD. Running through VideoRedo batch Processing to reset the Bitrate in the header to the true Video bitrate the files now show up and play.

In case you have not done it already, you should go into Twonky set up and select Bravia as the media device you attempting to play back on. If you have done that already then might be worth checking the file format restrictions that apply to Bravia when playing back over Network. I have Sony N100 media player that will play mkv via usb but not over network.

You must have posted as I was editing with the update. Thanks for the input.

I thought I’d found the problem but whilst one or two more videos showed up still not all do.

It’s not a Bravia problem as the files play fine from a HP MediaVault, so it must be some setting in the twonky server for the Bravia client that’s affecting it.

thanks a bunch oxter as that was annoying not being able to post w/ ie9. as far as the original poster…look in your sony tv manual and see what exactly it’ll play. you may have to re-encode audio/video for the files that arent showing up on the tv side of things.

Thanks for replying.

It’s not on the Sony side as all the files that don’t show in the Twonky server on the MyBook have always been listed and play without problems from my old HP MediaVault to the Sony TV.  I’m guessing the problem has to be with the Bravia client settings in the client.db file but haven’t had time to check it out fully.
