Streaming From Computer

I recently bought a Belkin wireless N receiver and hooked it up to my wd tv live plus( Ihad it wired before).

The problem I have is when I attempt to stream a movie it starts out fine for about a minute or so and then starts to stutter and skip. Oddly enough it seems to consistently make it thru the intro screens(20th Century Fox or whatever) and when the actual movie starts, the skipping begins. I’m only streaming about  20ft. and thru 1 (thin) wall.

Does anybody have any ideas as to whats wrong?

So…no ideas from anybody?

Well, I can only guess that that 20’ plus a thin wall is enough to reduce the available bandwidth below what is required…

What confuses me is that it will play for a few minutes without ANY problems. If the signal weren’t strong enough, wouldn’t it stutter from the get go?

Well, no, not necessarily.   If the bitrate at the beginning is within the limit, then it’ll play fine.

It’s only going to choke if and when the bitrate exceeds that available on your WLAN.

I bought my WD TV yesterday - it took a while to figure out how to get it streaming from my Mac but then it was fine. About half an hour ago it started to stutter - the pictures plays slowly with no sound. I get about a second of normal picture before it does this. I bought the WD TV because I’ve had endless trouble with my Apple TV1 dropping off. Could it be my wireless telephone? I’ve restarted the computer and the WD TV and nothing seems to fix it. It’s just so weird as it was working fine…

I appreciate your input, I was thinking the same thing.

Can you reccomend a strong enough receiver or other solution to get me going properly that’s not going to break the bank.

I hate the trial and error method for obvious reasons.
