I’m a newbie, hope you can help with a problem I’m having with the HD TV Live Hub. I actually have two units and I’m trying to stream files from the unit in my family room to another in my bedroom. I have them connected via Linksys E4200 router and Linksys AE 1000 wireless-n usb adapter on each unit.
Basically my problem is that the file will start and play well for the first couple of minutes but then it starts to freeze and the audio cuts off. I have tried restating but the problem persists
Most of my files are .avi, but i have had the same issue with .mkv as well. Most of my files are .avi.
I’d appreciate any ideas since streaming was one of the primary reasons I purchased the HD TV Live Hub.
Streaming FROM WiFi TO WiFi requires an excellent WiFi network.
Make sure your Hubs are configured to use the 5.0 GHz N Band on your E4200, and make sure you’re using a channel that’s unused by any of your nearby neighbors.
What kind of files are these? If they’re Blu-Ray rips at full bit-rate, forget ever being able to stream them wirelessly. Too much data for the Live Hub to handle. The only way I’ve been successful of doing this is with the router within 15 feet of the Live Hub and no obstructions. Even then, I get the occasional slowdown or stutter. Netflix will stream fine over wireless, but true 1080p Blu-Ray files that are not downconverted to a lower bit-rate will have issues. Thanksfully, they can be placed on the internal drive and will play absolutely fine.
