I cannot seem to find the required functionality I want with my WD Mycloud device.
I would like to automatically backup my phone with the mycloud which I’ve set up to do weekly. I would then like to sync those selected folders (from the phone backup) from the mycloud to my PC whenever it comes on as a secondary backup. My PC is hardly ever on but if I could set a schedule I would use it. The WD sync software only seems to want to sync certain folders from my PC to the mycloud, I need it to work the other way around. Is there any way of doing this? I would ideally like this to work so that I can set my wifes phone to auto backup weekly as well.
The WD Sync program is supposed to bidirectional sync, meaning sync to AND from the folder on the My Cloud to the folder on the PC. Doesn’t always work however for some. The program only seems sync one way, from the computer folder to the My Cloud folder for some users.
The WD My Cloud and WD Photo apps for Android and iOS will auto backup (not sync) data (pictures/video) from mobile devices to the My Cloud. See the respective app store for Android and iOS for the WD apps for mobile devices.
As the previous poster mentioned Free File Sync (http://www.freefilesync.org/) is what several use here instead of WD Sync due to the various issues (and limitations) with the WD Sync software.
