The WD AV-GP WD20EURX-73T0FY0 (2TB) SMART Failure

Does anyone know if this model of disk has a high failure rate?
WD AV-GP WD20EURX-73T0FY0 (2TB)

I have just opened a support case, but I am looking for more folks that may have purchased and their experience(s). I purchased on 2/12/16 and it was shipped, installed in a new build, and working great up until a few days ago. Windows 10 began displaying SMART detection warnings regarding imminent failure and asking that I backup my data now or “Ask me later”.

WD DLDiag shows the SMART failure:
Raw Read Error Rate = Failed

WD DLDiag Quick Test Results:

Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete!
Status code = 04 (Unknown failed test element), Failure Checkpoint = 96 (Unknown Test)
SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2!

HD Tune Pro 5.60 shows the SMART failure:
Raw Read Error Rate = Failed
Current Pending Sector = Warning

Anyone know if this disk model has a high failure rate or if I am just unlucky enough to get a bad disk out of the batch?

There were only a few reviews for this disk on the online retailer’s website (rhymes with mewbegg) but were good. I realize it was a gamble, but trying to correct it now.

Thanks in advance!

Posts about that hard drive model are quite uncommon in the WD Community, so I would presume a very low failure rate. Did you try testing the hard drive with a different application in order to confirm the issue does not relate to WD DLG?
