Unable to access Dashboard / UI

I am unable to access the dashboard / UI on my WDMYCLOUD device. I can browse to the files from the explorer but I cant get to the UI pages. I also am unable to connect to my device through the app my cloud OS 3. Says to update my firmware. But I cant update the firmware because I am unable to get to the dashboard.

How can I reset my device or update the firmware remotely and not through the dashboard.

Any ideas?

If one cannot access the My Cloud Dashboard using the device name, then try using the My Cloud IP address instead.

If one’s My Cloud supports OS5 and was updated to OS5 there are many reports of My Cloud units getting bogged down due to the OS5 indexing and the My Cloud Dashboard becoming inaccessible. Also if one has updated to OS5 they will need to update the My Cloud app on their mobile devices to the OS5 My Cloud mobile app for iOS or Android. The OS3 My Cloud app apparently doesn’t work with OS5 My Cloud devices.

When you open File Explorer and click on your, Network, then double click on your device under Storage what happens? See image below. Click on, tap, or activate image to enlarge it.
