I meant does the fact my wd hdtv doesn’t support header compression explain why the problem only occurs with some files, not all. I understand the fact that the newer ones do & older ones don’t-honest!

I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that despite posting in the wrong place I got the right answer eventually!
I am now using mkvmerge to sort the files out so I can finish putting all these movies on for my husband so he can watch them while he’s away working! Thank you X
