Wake from hibernation?

Hello. I’m new here so a big HELLO to everyone! I hope your all doing grand today.

I’m very sorry if my question has been asked/answered 100’s of times before.

Via the dashboard of my ‘MyCloud PR2100’ I turned on hibernation. I thought that if I logged on to mycloud from my browser it would wake from hibernation. It’s not.

I have tried http://mycloudPR2100 and the ip address in my browser and also tried through windows explorer. The unit does not wake from hibernation.

Is this because I need to enable wake on LAN (if it’s not)?

And if so… how do I do this? I had a quick look in settings (after I manually woke it from hibernation) but could not find WOL.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

I was not able to locate information related to WoL-features on WD’s site or the unit’s user manual. Please bear in mind the “hibernate” option is actually used to shut down the unit.

If WoL is possible then I’d recommend sending an E-mail to WD Support about this for detailed instructions (Iv possible):

Hi Trancer and many thanks indeed for your reply.

Yes… it seems to be that ‘Hibernate’ is not actually ‘Hibernate’ There seems to be no WOL feature on the device so I’ll just have configure the ‘Sleep’ option instead. So far the only way I can bring the unit out of hibernation is to push the power button. Maybe it should be called ‘Shut Down’ instead.

WOL would be a nice option to add in future firmware I think.

I’ll email WD support just in case I’ve missed something and if I havent I’l ask them if they are planning in introducing a WOL option as I think it would be a good addition to future frimware updates.

Thanks again.
