WOL for MyCloud PR2100

Hi there everyone. :slight_smile:

This is for any WD staff who could possibly pass on an idea to the development team(s) regarding the firmware/utilities for the MyCloud Pro 2100 series 2-bay Network Attached Storage Units.

I’m sure that I’m not alone thinking that a ‘Wake on LAN’ option for the PR2100 would be a great addition to the list of configuration options. Allowing complete remote administration.

I’m not that technically minded when it comes to computers and especially not in the networking side so please forgive me if there are already options there which allow such operations. If there are, I would be grateful for some guidance regarding waking up the unit from a hibernation state remotely.

Hi, as far as i am aware the PR series has WOL built into the firmware and is enabled, however if you tried and did not work and want for the information to reach the development team, then you need to create an idea in the idea section of the forum.

Maybe its just me thinking that I should be able to wake up the device from a hibernation state.

There appears to be no shut down option. I heard that hibernate is not hibernate but instead shut down.

If WOL is enabled… it does not seem to work when the unit is hibernation… for me anyway.

I think I’m going to have to do some more reading up and learning regarding the WOL & hibernate features before I comment further.
