WD 2003 FYPS possible failure?

Hello,

i bought an  WD 2003 FYPS from a Ebay seller in Germany in July last year, as i can remember. I will attach a log file from HDtune that is reporting a current pending sector count that occured 2 days ago. Also the WD data lifeguard diagnostics tells that the SMART test is passing, but it shows only the statistics from the last good scan a few months ago, now it stucks after 20 seconds and throws out the error 07 or so, and it says that the test is not running until the end because it can not read a certain sector. Yesterday, i also performed a Extended test in data lifeguard, and it passed flawless, and found no bad sectors !!! It took more than 6 hours to finish. So, can you tell me how safe the disk drive is ? I already secured all my important data yesterday on a 1 TB WD Black. I am very disappointed, the drive did not even work something longer than 3880 working hours, and it starts to show some errors. Any usefull information is welcome.

Regards

Here is an additional Data Lifeguard log attached

Hello and welcome to the WD Community.

It could be a case of bad sectors on the drive.

If possible and the unit stills under warranty, contact WD Support for direct assistance.

Status update: Problem solved !!!

It was more a software related problem that caused a problem on my primary partition, i solved my problem with help from hdtune which detected a bad sector on the beginning of the disc, on the second block. The actual fix came with hd regenerator, now the drive works like new. SMART test passed, no more current pending sectors. HDtune says on all tests ok, no bad sectors. I will check the disc and watch it in the next days, but i think it should be good now.
