WD Elements Play + .MKV with embedded soft subtitles (Greek)

Hello,

I have an .mkv movie file with a separate .srt file (Greek subtitles) which displays nice on my WD Elements Play.

Now I added the .srt file inside the .mkv by using MKVToolNix 9.4.2.
As a Language I selected the “Greek, Modern (1453-) (gre)” option and I muxed the files.

The resulting .mkv file correctly displays the embedded subtitles on my laptop and desktop computer (using VLC) but it shows only garbage when I try to watch it on WD Elements Play.

NOTE: I have tried to embed both ANSI and UTF-8 .srt files with MKVToolNix, but none works on WD.

Any ideas what to do?
