1 - On a Mac, connected to ethernet gigabit network. When first clicking WDMCloud in the Shared finder on left, it takes 10 seconds for the folders on the drive to show. How can I speed this up??? It happens every single time, even if I’ve just do it 30 seconds ago.
2 - I’ve submitted two support requests from within the local webpage to manage the device and haven’t heard anything from WD in over 2 weeks. Is there support for these devices other than a community forum?
How is the finder accessing the My Cloud? SMB? AFP? Other? It has been suggested by some in other threads that when using a Mac, connect to the My Cloud using AFP as SMB may have issues.
Some of these connect, others do not. The ones that make a connection still take like 10 seconds to show the folders on the drive. Once I see the folders though clicking through them is very fast/normal. Its the initial loading of the 7 folders on the drive that takes forever. The window says connecting each time during this 10 seconds. Why would it have to connect each timed not just stay connected.
Connected via ethernet.
There are only two computers a macbook pro and a windows laptop. The windows laptop doesn’t have the issue and can access the drive immediately upon clicking on WDMyCloud within network folder. The mac is brand new with all default settings. I installed the MyCloud app when I got the drive, then WDMyCloud showed up in left column of finder under Shared section. I’ve don’t nothing else.
Capitan 10.11.5
WD called and we went though some info. Seems clicking on WDMyCloud in finder and slow to load initial shares is normal. Which is fine because we mounted the share I use all the time, it now shows on desktop. Clicking it shows the content immediatly. This solves my issue.
