WD Passport: multiple copies of files: can i fix easily?

My WD Passport has been great, until the last back up. It made extra copies of some of the most recent files. The only thing I know changed, was I updated the WD SmartWare software.

I am primarily refering to iTunes files as they are mostly what I back up.

Can I fix this easily? Or must I blank the drive and start again?

 Thanks for any help!

By default Smartware will save 5 copies of each file that you edit. You can manually change this settings from the Smartware Setup tab and then on file history.

Thanks. I thought this might be the fix. Will the next back up only show one file, or will I have to manually delete them?

I appreciate your time and thank you for the quick help.

You can manually explore the smartware.swstor folder and delete the duplicate files. The new files that are backed up will only have the number of copies that you select.
