WD TV LIve HD - Multichannel over HDMI

Hi, cant find a definitive answer searching, the interface on the WD TV Live suggests I can do digital audio over HDMI, and on the manual settings for that there i a list of various multichannel modes, i cant select and save them though and the audio wont go through multichannel unless I use a TOS cable, is that just a limitation on the unit despite the UI appearing to support??

Which versions do passthrough over hdmi multichannel audio so I can buy one that works as I want?

The WD TV Live most definitely does digital audio over the HDMI – in fact, it supports ALL formats, including High-Definition audio such as DTS HD-MA.

All you should need to do is “Auto Detect” – I’ve never needed to use the manual selections.

As to why YOU can’t select and save them, I have no idea what that’s about – I just tried that and have no issues with it.
