WD TV Live HD not able to see some files on my Windows Home Server PC

Hi Fellas

I’ve setup my new WD TV Live HD player and all is well apart from it soent see 20 out of 53 movies on my Winows Home server PC.

All are different formats, all movies are visible if I goto “file management”

Any ideas? Its driving me nuts trying to figure out is I have missed something simple .

Is there a particular format that is missing? Are you going to your server via the media server route if so try network shares. It may be that your server does not ‘serve’ the missing formats.

Nope the files are all in formats that are visble.

Some are xvid, divx, mkv and a dvd folder…

Any ideas?

If you’re using a DLNA Server on the Home Server (as opposed to a simple Network Share) then there’s something about the file that the SERVER doesn’t like.  

In other words, the WDTV is just showing the list of files that the SERVER said are available.

Try using a simple Network Shared Folder.

If youre going through media shares. Drag and drop the folders or files you are missing into your windows media player library. Thats how I fixed new files not showing up
