WD10 EZRX-00A8LB0 Freezes

Hello. I have some problem with this drive. Sometimes it “freezes” and it became inaccessible. At first I google this trouble and find many messages with similar problem, caused by intellipark. At this time WD was secondary drive and windows was installed to another (samsung). Changing sata and power wires from samsung to wd does nothing. After that i install windows to wd, to prevent “intellypark” - drive always in use. But this not helps, when wd “freezes” it freezes all pc and causing blue screen. WinDlg’s quick test says nothing - pass, extended test cause “freeze”. But this is not totally freeze, drive works, but extra slow, something about kilobytes per second, but in hardware monitor is shows like 100% drive load.
Is there exists some ways to fix it? It never happens with samsung, so i think, this problem is only wd’s.

p.s. sorry, my english isn’t good.

Hello there, welcome to the community.

You could try to take the data out and write zeros to the drive, because what you are explaining seems like something that happened to me before and was a faulty drive.

Thanks for the reply. So, it seems like faulty drive. In your case it was hardware corruption? And “write zeros” is something like branded formatting? Just trying to understand, how erasing can help. Now running windows disk checking, maybe it can do what “write zeros” does. (Second drive can not take all of the data, so i not really want to erase, but if it is necessary…)
In hardware monitor i seen “100% load”, even if hdd not “freeze”, maybe this is software trouble? And even if read-write is about kilobytes it shows 100%, or if tens of megabytes - always high active time percent. Thanks.
