WDTV Live No Signal, No Response From Remote

So after plugging my WDTV Live today I was greeted with a blank “no signal” screen and the remote would not function at all, so I couldn’t shut it down without unplugging it. The power LED lights up as normal (no flashing or anything) but it acts as if it’s not even on. I’ve tried hard resetting, putting in a USB with the original firmware, changing the remote batteries, both the RCA and HDMI connections, using another power adapter, all to no response. Interestingly, when I plug in an Ethernet cable the green light comes on as if it’s working, but still no response on the screen or remote. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like the unit is dead :confounded:

I have the same problem… what did you do?  Do you have a solution??

I have to push the HDMI cable slightly stronger into WDTV. Otherwise I have no image signal. But I think this is a problem of my WDTV or HDMI cable.

The HDMI connector might have come loose from the circuit board. If you are competent with a soldering iron, or know an electronic technician, check the solder connections on the pins that hold the HDMI connector to the circuit board. You may be able to fix your problem by touching up these solder connections.

No solution yet. I’ve tried multiple hdmi cables, and using the included rca cable but it’s the same result with everything. I doubt it’s simply a video problem because the actual unit itself will never turn off with the remote, I have to physically unplug it.
