WDTV Live stopped scraping metadata

I have a library of about 500 video files stored on a 3tb WD MyBook Live.

Until very recenty everything was going fine – I had “Get Content Info” on my WDTV Live checked to manual only, and when I asked it to “get info”, it did so perfectly. Recently, it has stopped doing this, claiming for every file that “No content info” was found – even for files I previously had info for.  This is incredibly frustrating, as the media library is one of the main things I use on the WDTV Live.

Here is what I’ve tried so far:

Resetting to factory settings

Clearing media library (having backed up all xml and metathumb files)

Setting to automatic scraping of metadata

Nothing has worked, and after clearing the media, I was getting the “not content info found” error for EVERY file on my hard-drive, even the almost 500 that previously had full metadata filees.

Cany anyone help here at all? What should I do? I need the media library to be fully functioning, if it’s not there’s no point keeping the WDTV, which is a real shame, because I’ve had it for 6 months and been very pleased.

I’m on Firmware version 1.15.10, and my part number is WDBGXT0000NBK.

nothing on this, even any long shots I could try? It’s incredibly frustrating, and I really don’t want to have to exchange my WDTV for a Roku or such like!

You have the newer WD Live Streaming gen3 so you would be better off posting on the forum link below. This forum is for the original WD Live.

Oh, sorry about that, thought I was in the right place. Thanks for your help.
