Problem with getting movie Metadata info for movies

I’ve had my WD Media Live Hub for 2 years with no problems and this morning with I tried to “Get Info” for a couple of new movies I had and it returned the message “No content info found from the online database. Please change the search term and try again”. I even tried in on copy of another movie I had previously gotten the Metadata info for and it didn’t work. I am also using the proper spelling and year for the movie as I have done this a hundred times.

I only have one meta source called themoviedb.org.

I’ve restarted the WD Live Hub, same result.

I have set it both ways to manually get info or automatically. Still the same result.

Could there be a problem with the meta source “themoviedb.org”?

Just tested “Get Info” on my Live Hub … no problems here with the moviedb.org

Painful suggestion… have you tried a factory reset ?

Setup > System > Device Reset > Reset all Settings Back to Factory Default

I’ve had the scraper not working (mainly after firmware updates & rollbacks) and doing a full reset fixes the scraper

problem.

Note: a Factory Reset will not delete any of your files … it only resets all settings back to default.

 Nope that didn’t work.

Before I did a reset I found out that Getting Info for TV shows worked but no longer for movies. Weird.

On a related note, I also have a WD Tive Live and it doesn’t give me the option to even Getting Info for a show when I press the option ? Why would that be?

sorry it did’nt work, maybe try the moviedb.org tomorrow

here’s another older thread with your problem

If you have a WDTV Live Streaming Media Player (SMP) and there is no “Get Content Info”

a couple of reasons … read this thread

Hello all,

I have the exactly the same issue as described here.  What I have discovered to rectify the problem was to completely remove the year of the movie.  IE: “Argo (2012)” will not find content but searching “Argo” will find info.  So either move your movies over without dates or when searching for content manually remove year.  I have not determined if this is due to the last firmware or the data base not recognizing the year.  This started happening after the last firmware upgrade.  I have mine set to only get content manually.  The other thing I noticed is getting occasionally double files (as described in another post)  If I delete Library info and have it rebuild, these double files disappear.

I just heard, no confirmation, themoviedb changed the API?  It had a definate affect on an app I use on android and once you remove the year it can find the title.

You are right.

Once I delete the year from the movie title it works.

There was never a problem with getting content info for TV shows, that always worked.

Hopefully they wil resolve this issue.
