Windows 10 - Asking for Password?

Hi

I have a MYBook LIve for some reason my Windows 10 machine has started prompting via Windows Security for a password when I try to map a drive. The passwords I have associated withr drive dont seem to work.

Here is what I can do

  • open dashboard and amend settings
  • view data via iPhone app

Here is what I can’t do

  • access files from Windows 10 machine
  • logon on to WD Smartware - it seems to insert Workgroup in front of user name?

Any suggestions welcome

Simon

I have this same issue. I can see and access My Book Live using the WD My Cloud desktop on my old Windows 7 machine, including my private directory, but on my new Windows 10 machine, I see My Book Live as a network location, and can access public directories, but my personal directory is inaccessible. I am asked for a password, and none work. Is the solution to reset My Book Live and start over, or what?

Figured it out! I followed these instructions to get to the web dashboard:

Then checked user name, and removed the password. It worked. Then I reset a password, and it seems to work. I noted that the public shares are now visible as a drive, and all are found down below under network.
